SINSINAWA — Sr. Marjory Snyder, OP, died June 13, 2014, at Orchard Manor, Lancaster, Wis. Her religious name was Sister Paul Tarsus. The funeral Mass was held in Queen of the Rosary Chapel at Sinsinawa June 16, 2014, followed by burial in the Motherhouse Cemetery.
Sister Marjory made her first religious profession as a Sinsinawa Dominican Aug. 5, 1955, and her final profession Aug. 5, 1958. She taught for 14 years and ministered through a life of prayer. Sister Marjory served in Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin.
In the Diocese of Madison, Sister Marjory ministered through a life of prayer at the Motherhouse, Sinsinawa, 1976-1995, and Orchard Manor, Lancaster, 1995-2014.
Sister Marjory was born Jan. 7, 1923, in Versailles, Mo., the daughter of Leo and Harriette (Thorpe) Snyder. Her parents and two brothers, Robert Snyder and John Snyder, preceded her in death. She is survived by a nephew and her Dominican Sisters with whom she shared life for 58 years.
