MIDDLETON — At a recent Knights of Columbus meeting, members received information about a new Supreme Council program called the Ultrasound Initiative.
When a state, council, or diocese raises one-half of the cost of purchasing an ultrasound machine for a pro-life pregnancy help center, the Supreme Council will match the other half of the machine’s cost.
Eighty percent of all woman who have had an ultrasound done have carried the pregnancy to term. What a wonderful way to show pregnant woman who are considering abortion that the precious gift of life that God gave them should have the right to be born. God asks us to help those less fortunate than ourselves; nobody is more defenseless than an unborn child.
Richard Schwartz has found two pro-life clinics in the Madison Diocese that are willing to accept the ultrasound machines.
Individuals can help in two ways: first by prayer, asking God to bless the Knights’ efforts. The second way is financial. Schwartz set a goal of raising $30,000 for the purchase of two ultrasound machines for the Diocese of Madison by October 2010, Respect Life Month.
The first ultrasound machine would go to Our Lady of Hope Clinic in Madison and the other ultrasound machine would go to a pro-life clinic in Janesville.
A special bank account is being set up for these funds. To make a donation, make checks payable to Knights of Columbus and note Ultrasound Initiative in the check’s memo. Mail donations to: Richard Schwartz, 6120 Century Ave., #106, Middleton, WI 53562. Donations are tax deductible.
