JANESVILLE — The Diocese of Madison’s Eucharistic Congress, to be held from September 29 to October 1 in Waunakee, has as one of its goals that all Catholics answer Christ’s call to proclaim his Eucharistic love to the world.
The four Catholic parishes of Janesville — Nativity of Mary, St. John Vianney, St. Patrick, and St. William — are answering that call by joining together for a citywide Eucharistic procession on Sunday, June 11, the Solemnity of Corpus Christi.
Beginning at 3 p.m., Catholics from Janesville and nearby communities will walk together in a mile-long Eucharistic Procession that starts at Nativity of Mary Church, 313 E. Wall St., moves through the very heart of Janesville’s downtown, and ends at St. Patrick Church, 315 Cherry St.
In previous years, the procession has drawn more than 300 participants and has served as a powerful public witness to the love and power of the Eucharist.
In addition to asking questions about the event, onlookers have joined the procession and prayed with the group.
All are invited to come to Janesville on June 11 to participate in the Corpus Christi procession and the tailgate that follows in the St. Patrick parking lot.
