MADISON — Are you a Dane County high school student looking for an opportunity to serve others?
Would you like to grow in leadership skills and knowledge of your community?
Are you interested in joining a group of your peers and grow together in the areas of faith, friendship, and service?
The District Council of Madison St. Vincent de Paul Youth Service Council (YSC) is currently accepting applications for the 2020-2021 academic year.
“Love is inventive to infinity,” explained St. Vincent de Paul.
This year’s YSC will take that message to heart.
Undaunted by the unique times and confines within which we find ourselves, we remain committed to serving others well and meeting ongoing needs in our community.
YSC members select, plan, and execute a variety of events each year.
Together, they take time to reflect on how faith impacts their service (and vice versa) while deepening friendships in the process.
Past projects include developing a scholarship program for a peer who may otherwise be unable to afford post high school training or education, collecting winter clothing and accessories for those on the streets of Madison, and celebrating at holiday gatherings with residents of senior care centers.
Each year brings new ideas and opportunities for growth.
