The first grade class at St. Rose of Lima School, Cuba City, raised money for Heifer International, which distributes farm animals to families in need worldwide, on behalf of Eric Egan. Eric was a student at St. Rose who died after a courageous battle with leukemia last fall. Eric’s sister is in first grade this year at St. Rose. Eric was very fond of alpacas, so the class purchased one alpaca named Eric, one goat named Anna, and many chickens. “The animals will provide livestock to improve the lives of those who struggle daily for reliable sources of food and income,” said the students. “We want to thank all of you who contributed to our project.” (Contributed photo) |
