Amidst chants of “‘pro-life, it’s a lie — they don’t care if women die”‘ from a group of counter protesters organized by the International Socialist Organization out of Madison, about 60 pro-lifers from the Diocese of Madison gathered together for a Defund Planned Parenthood Rally on Saturday, Feb. 11.
The rally held outside the Planned Parenthood Clinic in Madison was organized by Vigil for Life-Madison.
Defund Planned Parenthood
There were over 200 locations, including the one in Madison, throughout the United States that held Defund Planned Parenthood rallies on the morning of Saturday, Feb. 11. The nationwide rallies were spearheaded by the Pro Life Action League out of Chicago under the direction of Eric Scheidler.
The time has come to defund America’s abortion giant! Planned Parenthood is the nation’s largest abortion chain, killing over 300,000 babies each year, and nearly half of their billion dollar budget comes from taxpayer dollars.
Now that the 115th Congress is moving to strip Planned Parenthood of that money, we need to send our messages of support to them telling Congress that we, the taxpayers, want Planned Parenthood defunded.
How to help
Even if you were not able to make it to the Madison rally, you are still able to help:
1. Contact your U.S. representatives and senators — Tell them to support the congressional effort to defund Planned Parenthood.
2. Share the truth about Planned Parenthood — Talk to friends and neighbors. Spread the word on social media. Write a letter to the editor.
3. Get involved with #ProtestPP –Visit ProtestPP.com for updates on the defunding effort and urgent calls to action.
4. Get involved with Vigil for Life-Madison — Peacefully pray for and witness for an end to abortion on the sidewalk outside of Planned Parenthood on Madison’s east side. Find out more at vigilforlife.org
