SULLIVAN — Mariana Paloucek was born in June of 2007 and is very seriously ill. She has a rare, genetic disease called Gaucher’s disease.
As a result of the disease, Paloucek suffers pain from having enlarged organs. Her immune system is also weakened, so she is very susceptible to other illnesses.
The treatments Paloucek may face are daunting, so the St. Mary Help of Christians Knights of Columbus in Sullivan are sponsoring a grill cookout and silent auction benefit for Paloucek on Sunday, Aug. 2, at the Firemen’s Park in Rome from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
To donate items for the silent auction or help out at the event, contact Doreen Arndorfer at 262-593-2848.
