As you have likely heard, the Frassati Fest is the coolest weekend around for Catholic high school students in the Diocese of Madison. (In case you haven’t heard, this Fest is the newly renamed Resurrection Rally you are used to loving over the past 12 years.)
The planning team has been hard at work planning this year’s event. Here is some information about Frassati Fest:
Why the name change?
We felt like it was time! Resurrection Rally had a great run, and the history and foundation of this awesome weekend will remain the same. However, we were excited to rename the event in honor of a great young witness of the Catholic faith. We trust that through the intercession of Bl. Pier Giorgio Frassati this event will continue to be great. (Don’t worry — we’re already planning on teaching about him during the weekend to help the young people understand our new name.)
What else is changing?
We are listening to your evaluations and making some changes. For example, we will have a third workshop option on Saturday afternoon and more extra fun opportunities offered during that break time. Also, to shorten up the Saturday night prayer session, we will be moving Mass back to Sunday morning. This will also allow time for another hour in the water park on Saturday night, if teens wish to partake instead of attending the first hour of the party.
What are the dates and location?
The Frassati Fest will be held from 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, to 11:45 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013. As in the past, we are hosting this event at Chula Vista Resort in Wisconsin Dells.
Who is the keynote speaker?
Jon Pressimone, long-time Catholic Heart Work Camp worker and musician, is a rockin’ youth minister, talented Catholic singer, ultimate frisbee loving, super awesome young adult (who happens to be good friends with the guys from Popple)! He is getting ready to rock the house for the weekend.
What is the theme?
“AGAPE: Love through the fight!” We will be exploring what it means to follow the greatest commandment (to love) in the world today, even in the midst of difficulties, persecutions, and the conflicting definitions of love floating around out there.
What is the cost and registration information?
The price is not changing for the Frassati Fest this year. The early registration fee is $85. The late registration fee is $105.
The early registration deadline is December 21. The late registration deadline is January 21. Please note that you must make your hotel reservation by January 2 this year.
