JEFFERSON — St. John the Baptist Parish in Jefferson has begun offering family Adoration and 12-hour Eucharistic Adoration vigils on the first Friday of each month. These devotions are offered year-round and are a response to the encouragement of Pope Francis for all Catholics to grow in devotion to Jesus, truly present in the Eucharist.
St. John the Baptist is offering a free potluck meal before each evening of Adoration. The meal is held at 6:30 p.m., Exposition of the Holy Eucharist is held at 7:30 p.m., and the overnight Adoration vigil begins at 7 p.m. (and ends at 7:30 a.m. with the Mass on Saturday).All area Catholics are invited to attend this event on the first Friday of each month: Oct. 4, Nov. 1, Dec. 6, Jan. 3, Feb. 7, March 7, April 4, and May 2.
