MADISON — The 2020 Catholic Charities of Madison Faith in Action Celebration will look different than it has for the past 25 years, but the goal of the event remains the same — to celebrate the Corporal Works of Mercy across the Diocese of Madison and raise vital funds for Catholic Charities’ social services programs.
For 25 years, the Faith in Action dinner has drawn people together in support of the impact Catholic Charities and other Catholic organizations and leaders are making throughout Southern Wisconsin.
After the pandemic broke out, it quickly became clear that the traditional Faith in Action dinner at the Madison Marriott West would not be possible.
The dinner committee and the Catholic Charities development team decided that a virtual event was the way to go.
Thanks to our presenting sponsors, the virtual event will be free to watch.
The event will begin at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 1.
To watch the event, go to ccmadison.org
The program will feature success stories from Catholic Charities programs, a keynote from Bishop Donald J. Hying of Madison, a special address from community partners, and celebration of all former award winners — of which there are more than 100.
While the event is free to watch, Catholic Charities is asking people to register for the event to receive a free gift and program booklet.
For those who want to support the event, watch baskets are available.
A $100 Patron watch basket includes hot chocolate and treats for two people, a hand painted Christmas ornament from a Catholic Charities program participant, a program booklet, and a few more goodies.
A $500 Benefactor watch basket will include everything mentioned as part of the Patron watch basket, as well as a bottle of red wine and box of gourmet chocolates.
Watch baskets are available to purchase at ccmadison.org
Consider watching and supporting this event.
During this trying year, our programs and program participants have faced many challenges. We need your support to keep hope alive and ensure the light of Catholic Charities will continue to reach thousands across southern Wisconsin.
“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it” (John 1:5).
