MADISON — You can learn more about the Eucharist 10 minutes at a time.
Recently, diocesan Vicar General Msgr. James Bartylla began delivering homilies during Mass at Holy Name Heights in Madison that will serve as parts of a nine-month series on the Eucharist, all leading up to the diocesan Eucharistic Congress in Waunakee in September (more information on that can be found on Page 24).
These talks are a 10-minute in-depth dive into the meaning of the Eucharist in a quick homily for those who don’t have a ton of time.
You can view these homilies as part of a video series.
Monsignor Bartylla synthesizes a series of podcasts originally presented by Fr. Thomas Joseph White, OP, director of the Thomistic Institute in Washington, D.C.
The topics for this series will cover:
- Introduction to the Eucharist
- Transubstantiation
- The Effects of the Sacrament
- Scriptural and Historical Roots of the Mass
- Thomas Aquinas on the Sacrifice of the Mass
- The Modern Theories of Christ’s Passion
- Eucharistic Miracles
