MADISON — Edgewood Campus School, located on the shared campus with Edgewood High School and Edgewood College, has announced plans to enhance the four-year-old kindergarten program.
Beginning in the fall of 2009 the Campus School will offer an all-day program for 4K.
The all-day four-year-old kindergarten program will follow the Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards prepared by the Department of Public Instruction.
The core curriculum will include religion, language arts, mathematics, social studies, and science. Special subject teachers will teach the students art, music, physical education, library, and technology. A guidance counselor will provide a program that is designed to enrich the student with various life skills.
The four-year-old kindergarten will be located in the Campus School building and will follow the same time schedule and calendar as the rest of the school. Students will be able to take advantage of the hot lunch and after school programs. The after school program, which is operated by Campus School faculty members, offers child care from the end of the school day until 5:30 p.m.
To be eligible for the program children must be four years old on or before September 1 of the program year. No formal assessment test will be required for admission.
