MADISON — A number of parishes throughout the Diocese of Madison will be selling Divine Chocolate the weekends of February 12 and 13 and February 19 and 20. However, parishes also sell Divine Chocolate at any time during the year.
Divine Chocolate is fair-trade chocolate that supports cocoa farmers in Ghana. The profits from this diocesan sale will benefit the Diocese of Madison’s Global Solidarity Partnership’s Donkey Project in Navrongo-Bolgatanga Ghana. This project provides donkeys to poor women farmers in Navrongo-Bolgatanga.
For parishes or parish organizations wishing to sell Divine chocolate, it can be ordered from SERRV, a fair trade outlet, located at 2701 Monroe St., Madison. It gives the diocese a special discount. SERRV’s telephone is 608-233-4438. Parishes need to have the Wisconsin sales tax exemption number available when ordering.
Chocolate is ordered by the box: milk chocolate, dark chocolate, toffee, and crunchy milk chocolate.
Details about ordering Divine Chocolate and any questions about selling it can be answered by contacting coordinator Clarence Mougin, Global Solidarity Partnership Committee, by phone at 608-850-4084, or by e-mail at clarencemougin@charter.net
