Over the past several years in the Diocese of Madison, we have been taking the time and attention to re-propose the Gospel to all the faithful through our Go Make Disciples (GMD) initiatives in our parishes.
Then we moved on to making the mission possible through our strategic planning initiative Into the Deep.
As a result of both Go Make Disciples in coordination with the newly formed pastorates from Into the Deep, it is our hope that many people will embrace a new and fruitful love of the Lord and our Catholic faith.
What is the Day of Equipping?
For many of us, we may not feel confident and competent to pick up the missionary dimension of our discipleship.
Therefore, Bishop Donald J. Hying of Madison and the diocese are offering a day entitled, A Day of Equipping for Missionary Disciples.
The Day of Equipping is a retreat/formation day for GMD teams and individuals in the diocese to grow in greater understanding of our Baptismal call and to equip us with the skills necessary to take the Gospel message to the world.
Participants will reflect on practical and pastoral evangelization skills tailored to their individual lives and “mission”.
The day includes talks, small groups, Mass, Adoration, and Confession.
All are invited, especially those engaged in Go Make Disciples and those individuals seeking to live their personal apostolate.
Our speaker: Bart Schuchts
At the Day of Equipping, the diocese will welcome Bart Schuchts as a speaker.
Schuchts is the founder of Church on Fire and has been associated with the John Paul II Healing Center since its inception.
Schuchts has been in ministry across the Body of Christ for over 30 years.
Schuchts grew up in a Catholic home yet drifted away from God while in college.
Following a desperate plea to God while sitting in an NFL locker room, Schuchts had a powerful encounter with the Father’s love that transformed his life forever.
Schuchts travels the country presenting at conferences and retreats, bringing thousands into an intimate and powerful encounter with the Father’s love, transforming lives, and equipping people to live more fully into Christ’s mission.
Schuchts’s passion is to see the Church transformed and equipped to live into the fullness of Her 2,000-year history.
Schuchts is married to Brooke and they have four children: Hannah, Gabrielle, Kailey, and Joshua.
A pastor summed it up well when he said, “Bart is one of the most passionate men for God that I know . . . His heart is for people to live into the fullness of who they are Called to be.”
