DARLINGTON — Holy Rosary Parish’s “Monthly Manna” Mobile Food Pantry has experienced an increase in the number of families it has been serving, up to 125 families each month.
The sponsors of the food pantry, Catholic Charities and Second Harvest, have been adding new pantries in neighboring areas due to the increasing needs.
Holy Rosary Parish hosts the mobile food pantry every third Friday of the month year-round, from 2 to 3 p.m. There are no qualifications — the food is free to whoever needs it. Recipients are asked to bring their own containers to take their food home in.
During the months of March through November, the mobile food pantry is held at Holy Rosary Church’s parking lot, 104 E Harriet St.
During the winter months of December, January, and February, and in cases of inclement weather, the food pantry is held indoors at the American Legion Building at 1400 Keep St., in Darlington.
