MCFARLAND — Christ the King Parish in McFarland will join with Madison area parishes in raising funds to reopen the Catholic Multicultural Center by contributing 10 percent of the profit from King Fest, the annual parish festival.
The festival begins with a smelt fry on Friday, Aug. 7, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children and must be purchased in advance at the parish office or by mailing a check to: Christ the King Parish, P.O. Box 524, McFarland, WI 53558. Enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope.
The Red Hot Horn Dawgs will play under the big tent from 7 to 11 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8. Bingo will be played on Saturday night, from 6:30 to 10 p.m. in the parish center. At 10 p.m. the winner of the big raffle will be drawn. The top prize is a choice between a 2009 Subaru, a trip for four to the Badger football game in Hawaii on December 5 (or an alternative trip), or $6,000 in cash. Tickets can be purchased for $5 each or six tickets for $25 at the parish or by mail at the address above.
A pancake breakfast will be on Sunday morning, Aug. 9, from 8 a.m. until 12 noon. Tickets can also be purchased at the door. Throughout the festival, tickets will be sold for the beautiful quilt made by parish ladies. These tickets are $1 each or six for $5 and can be purchased by mail.
Christ the King Parish welcomes the help of area Catholics as we work to help reopen the Catholic Multicultural Center.
