MADISON — Christopher West, globally recognized as a leading chastity speaker and author, will speak to University of Wisconsin-Madison’s students Thursday, April 23, at 7:15 p.m., at St. Paul University Catholic Center, 723 State St.
Badger Catholic invites all students and their friends to join the organization’s speaker event, “What is Love? A New Sexual Revolution.”
During the event, students will have the opportunity to learn more about “Theology of the Body,” a bold, biblical vision of love and sexuality written by St. John Paul II.
The talk will revolutionize the standard love and sex culture found among young people. West will present the topic in a light-hearted, yet revolutionary way that goes against society’s standards of sex.Through this presentation, Badger Catholic will provide an informative evening to UW-Madison’s students about the significance of marriage, love, and sex.
As West depicts the “Theology of the Body” in a secular, accessible way, he will also explore a different approach towards chastity talks. “Catholics need to complete what the sexual revolution began,” he stresses.
West, who has been featured in the New York Times, and on ABC News, Fox News, and MSNBC, is an appropriate follow-up speaker to Jason Evert’s “How to Save Your Marriage . . . Before Meeting Your Spouse.” West will challenge the new set of norms that society imposes on ideas of sex and love.
“We’re pleased to host an event with nationally renowned speaker Christopher West, especially during this pivotal time for college students,” said Badger Catholic president, Amanda Recktenwald.
“We had a very successful talk last year with Jason Evert and we hope that students will learn about this interesting new way of understanding love and relationships.”
