I wish all of the priests, deacons, Religious and consecrated persons, lay ecclesial ministers, and the lay faithful of our Madison Diocese the deepest joy, love, and mercy of Christ, made manifest in the beauty of the Incarnation. The light of Jesus’ coming has made the darkness vanish! As we move deeper into our Go Make Disciples evangelizing initiative, I am inspired and heartened by the many people of our diocese who devotedly love the Lord and seek to spread the saving power of the Gospel. When we realize that we have been personally rescued by the Son of God from a futile life of sin and death, and promised forgiveness and eternal union with the Father, Christmas becomes a unique moment of joy, love, and thanksgiving. We have been saved and set on a path which will lead us to the light of the Father’s house! May each of you know the peace and glory of this Christmas season! I will remember you and your intentions in my Christmas Masses and prayers.
