MADISON — The Women’s Choir of St. Catherine University in St. Paul, Minn., under the direction of Patricia Cahalan Connors, will present a concert in Madison as part of their 2022 spring break tour of the upper Midwest.
The choir will perform on Wednesday, March 23, at 7:30 p.m., at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 2450 Atwood Ave., Madison.
Lauren Trowbridge, a member of St. Bernard Parish, is a member of the choir and will be featured as a soloist.
The choir’s program of sacred and secular works includes repertoire from a variety of styles and periods, classic to contemporary, and will particularly highlight music of women composers, from 19th-century Clara Schumann to those still writing today.
Recognized as a leading women’s choir in Minnesota, the Women’s Choir performs often throughout the year, both on campus and off.
They have performed for conventions of the Minnesota ACDA and the Minnesota Music Education Association (MMEA), with other college women’s choirs in WomanVoice and on concert tours within the U.S. and abroad.
They were featured on the radio program, A Prairie Home Companion, during the university’s centennial celebration.
