AMHERST, Wis. — A new Catholic book publishing company, Mary’s Books Publishing, has been created as the owners, Mike and Mary Laskowski, saw a need for more children’s books about saints to use as role models for youth today.
The company has received permission to reprint the Dujarie Press Saints and Famous Catholics Biographies. They were originally written by numerous Brothers of the Holy Cross.
Eventually there will be almost 400 books in four different reading levels. Twenty-five titles are currently available.
Mary’s Books Publishing is starting with the Level 1 and Level 2 books which are geared for younger children. Twenty of the Level 1 books by Brother Ernest are currently available, including ones on St. Thérèse, St. Anthony, St. Cecilia, St. Bernadette, St. Joan of Arc, St. Charles, The Infant Jesus of Prague, St. Agatha, St. Elizabeth of Hungary, and St. Margaret of Scotland.
Five of the Level 2 books by Brother Roberto are also available including ones on St. Maximillian Kolbe, St. Perpetua, St. Germaine, St. Boniface of Germany, and St. Rose of Lima.
