MADISON — On February 12, 1922, the first Mass of Blessed Sacrament Parish was celebrated at the St. Joseph Chapel on the Edgewood College campus as the Dominican friars awaited approval for the construction of their new church.
On Sunday, Feb. 13, Blessed Sacrament Parish will celebrate 100 years since its founding at its 11 a.m. Mass.
Bishop Donald J. Hying of Madison and Fr. James Marchionda, OP, prior provincial of the Dominican Province of St. Albert the Great, will be in attendance, as will members of the Sinsinawa Dominican Sisters, who were instrumental in the foundation and life of Blessed Sacrament School for many years.
A reception will follow.
The Mass will be live-streamed on the parish’s YouTube channel, which is linked on the homepage of the parish website, blsacrament.org
