MADISON — “We Are Women of Faith, Women of Hope, Women of Action” is the theme of the 55th annual Madison Diocesan Council of Catholic Women (MDCCW) convention to be held June 16 to 17 at the Bishop O’Connor Center here.
Registration is from 7:15 to 8:45 a.m. on Wednesday, June 17, Convention Day. A continental breakfast will be served at that time. The annual meeting will be convened at 9 a.m.
The keynote address, “Women Leaders, Please Stand: God Has Something for You to Do,” will be given by Dr. M. Elizabeth Tardola, Beloit, at 9:45.
A concelebrated Mass will be offered at 11 with Bishop William H. Bullock, bishop emeritus, as celebrant. A luncheon will be served at 12 noon. Fundraiser drawings will follow.
Breakout sessions
There will be three breakout sessions from 1:30 to 2:15 p.m. These will be repeated from 2:30 to 3:15 p.m. They include:
Organization Commission: “Leadership — Faith in Action” by Dorene Shuda: A panel presentation on Membership and Communication will also be held with Kathy Wittwer, Ann Schoeder, Karen Granann, and Linda Rosiejka.
Legislation and International Concerns by Jo Ann Russell and Rita Meinholz: Brett Davis, assemblyman from the 80th district, will discuss legislative issues. The Donkey Project video will be viewed and literature on Catholic Relief Services will be given.
Community, Family Concerns, and Rural Life by Ann Karl, Mary Stasek, and Ila Jo Graser: Tom Nelson, diocesan rural life coordinator, will speak on “Spirituality of Food.” Information will be given on Our Lady of Hope Clinic, a non-profit organization in Madison.
Registration will open at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 16. Fundraisers and display areas will be open.
The MDCCW board meeting will be held at 12:45 p.m. There will be a prayer service at 4.
There will be a banquet at 6:15 preceded by a hospitality hour at 5:15. McDonald Brothers will furnish the entertainment at the banquet.

Fees include: Tuesday, June 16: $25 (includes prayer service, banquet, and entertainment); Wednesday, June 17: $30 (includes breakfast and luncheon); room accommodations for Tuesday night: dorm room: one person in room, $32; two persons in room, $36; Full room (one full size bed) $50 for one or two people.
