MADISON — The newspapers and gossip columns are filled with Hollywood stars and their prenuptial agreements. These agreements are not just being used by the super wealthy.
Fr. Tait Schroeder, who did his dissertation on prenuptial agreements, will de-mystify some of the aspects of what prenuptial agreements mean for Catholics approaching marriage. He will delve into how prenuptial agreements impact marital consent.
Father Schroeder, the judicial vicar for the Madison Diocese, earned a Licentiate in Canon Law (J.C.L.) in 2011 and a Doctorate in Canon Law (J.C.D.) in 2012.
He will be speaking to the St. Thomas More Society, a group of Catholic lawyers, and their guests on Friday, April 4, at 12 noon at St. Patrick Church, 404 E. Main St. in Madison.
Continuing Legal Education Credits will be applied.
In keeping with Lent, a simple meatless lunch will be offered. There is no cost for the lunch, but a donation to Catholic Relief Services Operation Rice Bowl is suggested.
The St. Thomas More Society raised $300 at their March lunch meeting. They have received a challenge to raise an additional $350 to receive a matching gift and bring the total raised to $1,000. If successful, that would provide 1,000 people with their daily wage.
Reservations are required by April 2 by contacting Deb at 608-395-6707 or dso@dewittross.com
