MADISON — There were plenty of western hats atop smiling faces as volunteers from Deloitte Consulting’s Madison office joined with clients and staff of Catholic Charities’ Adult Day Center (ADC) for a western-themed event on August 23 as part of the 21st annual United Way of Dane County’s Days of Caring.
Volunteers from Deloitte Consulting spent a day with ADC program participants at the Bishop O’Connor Center in Madison. The event included games such as horseshoes, lasso a toy horse, cowboy hat throw, and soda pop ring toss. There was also country line dancing, lunch, and entertainment by KG and the Rangers.
“Catholic Charities Adult Day Center would like to thank Deloitte Consulting for their time, enthusiasm, and assistance during the western-themed Day of Caring event,” said Cricket Hesselberg, ADC program director.
“The volunteers enhanced the day’s activities by providing warm, friendly smiles, eagerness to help others, motivating and engaging participants in festivities, and offering individualized attention to those who may be isolated or have limited social interactions at home.
“A large event, such as this, is difficult to successfully pull off without volunteers, and we are very grateful for the opportunity to partner with Deloitte Consulting for 11 years of dedication,” said Hesselberg.
