MADISON — Relevant Radio 1240 is spearheading the formation of a new Catholic Business Association (CBA) in Madison to create an ongoing opportunity for Catholic business people to meet and network in a prayerful environment.
“The Catholic Business Association concept began in Milwaukee about two years ago,” said Jim DeSchepper, general manager of Relevant Radio 1240. “It was so popular that the Milwaukee chapter spun off a Racine-Kenosha chapter.
“We decided to start a CBA in Madison. It’s a great way to grow your business through networking with other Catholic and Christian business people and grow your faith through well-known Catholic speakers.”
The first meeting will be held on Monday, Nov. 30, from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. at the Bishop O’Connor Catholic Pastoral Center, 702 S. High Point Rd.
Thirty minutes of open networking (bring business cards to share) will be followed by a presentation by Fr. Frank Hoffman (also known as Father Rocky). Father Hoffman is senior director of mission, programming, and development with Relevant Radio.
Those attending will enjoy beverages and baked goods from Yola’s Cafe provided by owner Lance Ratze.
There is no fee for attending, but the CBA seeks sponsor support to defray speaker and food costs. Meetings will be held quarterly, with the next meeting on February 9, 2010, featuring Dave Durand, founder of Pro-Balance.
