Latinos celebrate Christ the King with Bishop Hying
On Sunday, Nov. 24, the Latino community of St. Thomas Aquinas Parish in Madison and from nearby parishes came together to celebrate the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe. Most Reverend Donald Hying, bishop of Madison, celebrated their 6:30 p.m. Spanish Mass with Fr. Bart Timmerman, pastor of St. Thomas Aquinas Parish.

MADISON — Continuing a tradition of 30-plus years, the Madison Diocesan Choir will present Lessons & Carols on Sunday, Dec. 22, at Holy Name Heights, accompanied by orchestra, harp, and organ in performing works of Fauré, Handel, and Mendelssohn, all celebrating the Savior’s birth.
Bishop Donald J. Hying will preside, his first Lessons & Carols as the new bishop of the Diocese of Madison. MADISON — Over 10 years ago, the Catholic Multicultural Center (CMC), a social service agency serving Madison’s south side since 1946, was closed down by its parent organization due to tough economic times.
Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish stepped up to the plate to take on stewardship of the center, reopening its doors two months later.
