Bishop Robert C. Morlino, Bishop of Madison, has appointed Fr. Eric Nielsen to Our Lady of Hope Clinic’s board of directors, effective immediately. Father Nielsen will serve as the bishop’s representative to the clinic and will also be the clinic’s spiritual director.

St. Ambrose Academy has natural family planning consultant available for families
MADISON — St. Ambrose Academy will have a consultant available for any of its families needing assistance with natural family planning (NFP) this academic year.
Leah Stader, a FertilityCare Practitioner intern who will complete her training in November, has volunteered to meet with any parents who wish to learn more about NFP or who have questions about their own fertility.
Mission founder to speak in McFarland
MCFARLAND — Fr. Stan Martinka, the founder of San Alfonso Mission in Mexico, has been visiting Christ the King Parish in McFarland for approximately 25 years requesting support for the mission’s education and health programs aiding the poor of Juarez, Mexico.
This August, Father Martinka will speak at all three parish Masses the weekend of August 22 and 23.

Happy reopening of Catholic Multicultural Center
MADISON — Monday, Aug. 3, was a jubilant day for the Catholic Multicultural Center (CMC), 1862 Beld St., in Madison. After being closed by the Diocese of Madison since May 27, the center reopened its doors to serve the basic needs of people in Madison and the surrounding 11 counties of the Madison Diocese.
With the permission of Bishop Robert C. Morlino, Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish in Madison spearheaded the effort to reopen the center.
Patrick Madrid to speak in Madison
MADISON — On Friday, Sept. 4, Patrick Madrid will speak at the Bishop O’Connor Center on the topic of moral relativism.

Priest’s abuse case being sent to Vatican
MADISON — The members of the Diocese of Madison’s Sexual Abuse Review Board have, after a preliminary investigation into the testimonies and facts surrounding an allegation of child-sexual abuse made against Fr. Joseph Gibbs Clauder, found the allegation to be credible.
Considering the Review Board’s findings, Bishop Robert C. Morlino has agreed with their evaluation and has referred this case to the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF), in Rome, for judgment.

Diocese to have four new priests serving its people
MADISON — Bishop Robert C. Morlino joyfully announces the ordination of Deacons John Patrick Blewett, Osvaldo Briones Césped, and George Alexander Navarro Sáenz, all members of the Society of Jesus Christ the Priest, to the Sacred Order of Priests, this Friday, July 31, at 5:30 p.m., at the Bishop O’Connor Catholic Pastoral Center in Madison.
Through the laying on of hands and the prayer of consecration these three men will be ontologically transformed into priests, called to attend no longer to their own concerns, but to those of Christ and to those of the people of God.
