Pearl Harbor survivor attends 75th event
BELOIT — At 96 years, Stan Van Hoose, a charter member of Our Lady of the Assumption (OLA) Parish, says he’s “still a sailor at heart.”
He served in the U.S. Navy and is a Pearl Harbor survivor. He was involved in seven major naval battles during his five years of service in World War II (WWII.) After the war, he re-enlisted in the Navy to serve an additional three years.

Apostolate helps churches, schools provide access in diocese
MADISON — The Apostolate for Persons with Disabilities (formerly the Apostolate to the Handicapped) has been a resource for people in the Diocese of Madison since 1967.
Beginning in 2013, at the direction of Bishop Robert C. Morlino, Msgr. Larry Bakke, director of the Apostolate, initiated a program to provide grants to parishes and schools to help cover some of the expenses of making their buildings, property, and grounds more accessible to people with disabilities.
St. Ambrose Academy presents “Hello Dolly!”
MADISON — Students from St. Ambrose Academy, Madison, are diligently working on their choreography, songs, and lines for their upcoming production of Hello, Dolly!
Performances of the musical will be held Friday, March 31; Saturday, April 1; and Sunday, April 2; at the Verona High School Performing Arts Center, 300 Richard St., Verona.
With a history of crowd pleasing and TOMMY award-winning performances such as The Sound of Music, The Music Man, and Beauty and the Beast, students are planning on another successful musical.

MADISON — On Monday, March 20, at 7 p.m., His Excellency Most Reverend Robert C. Morlino will celebrate a Pontifical Mass at the Throne (Extraordinary Form) in the chapel of the Holy Name Heights in Madison (Bishop O’Connor Center), 702 S. High Point Rd.
Holy Mass will be celebrated in honor of the Feast of St. Joseph, foster father of the Lord, husband of Mary, patron of the Church, of the dying, of fathers, and of immigrants.
The music will be Gregorian Chant and polyphonic motets.

St. Louis de Montfort stated in The Secret of the Rosary that, “Public prayer is far more powerful than private prayer to appease the anger of God and call down His mercy, and Holy Mother Church, guided by the Holy Ghost, has always advocated public prayer in times of public tragedy and suffering.”
