Protest of Planned Parenthood in Madison
MADISON — On Monday, Aug. 24, pro-lifers will join the nationwide efforts to protest Planned Parenthood’s barbaric practice of aborting babies and selling their body parts.
“In the wake of the horrific videos exposing this practice, now is the time for people of faith to stand up and demand an end to the nation’s largest abortion provider,” said Laura Karlen of Madison‘s Vigil for Life.
Catholic Medical Association of Madison plans summer picnic
MADISON — The Catholic Medical Association (CMA) of Madison invites Catholic healthcare professionals to a summer picnic.
The picnic will be held on Sunday, Aug. 23, beginning at 1 p.m. at the Sheehan Park-West Shelter, 1115 Linnerud Dr., Sun Prairie. Any interested Catholic physicians or health care workers in and around the Madison area, along with family members and friends of all ages, are welcome to attend. Fun, family-friendly games, activities, and face-painting for the kids are planned. There is no cost to attend.
Women’s prayer retreat at Durward’s Glen
BARABOO — There is an upcoming retreat for women at Durward‘s Glen retreat and conference center located at W11876 McLeisch Rd. in Baraboo.
The Sacred Intercession Prayer Retreat is on Friday, Sept. 11, and Saturday, Sept. 12.
It starts on Friday with registration and a reception from 6 to 7 p.m. followed by the first talk and Eucharistic Adoration in the chapel. It continues Saturday with 7:30 a.m. Mass followed by breakfast. The session starts at 8:30 a.m. with lunch at 12 noon. It ends at 3 p.m.
Jeff Cavins presents ‘Bible Timeline Seminar’ in Dubuque
DUBUQUE — Jeff Cavins, creator of The Great Adventure Catholic Bible study program and director of the Archbishop Harry J. Flynn Catechetical Institute, will present “The Bible Timeline Seminar” on Saturday, Sept. 12, at the Grand River Center, 500 Bell St. Registration begins at 8 a.m. with the seminar from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Mazzuchelli memorial Mass August 23
BENTON — The annual Fr. Samuel Mazzuchelli Memorial Mass and dinner will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 23, at St. Patrick Church, 237 E. Main St. The public is invited to attend the day’s events sponsored by the Father Mazzuchelli Assembly 1202 Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, Lancaster.
Prior to the Mass, the public is invited to visit St. Augustine Church, New Diggings. Tours will be given from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The church was designed and built by Father Mazzuchelli in 1844 and is the only church that remains as he originally designed it. The Knights have restored the church.

Honoring St. Philomena at shrine in Briggsville
BRIGGSVILLE — On Sunday, Aug. 9, there will be a day honoring St. Philomena at St. Mary Help of Christians Church, N565 Highway A. The day will begin with Mass at 11 a.m. and a prayer service afterward at the outdoor National Shrine of St. Philomena. A community picnic will follow, put on by parishioners of St. Mary Help of Christians. It will be a time for sharing with fellow devotees and honoring St. Philomena. Religious items from Italy will be available for sale.
