SINSINAWA — Sr. Alice Kole, OP, died October 3, 2014, at the Dominican motherhouse, Sinsinawa, Wis. Her religious name was Sister Casimira. The funeral Mass was held in the Gathering Place at Sinsinawa, Oct. 7, 2014, followed by burial of the cremains in the Motherhouse Cemetery.
Sister Alice made her first religious profession as a Sinsinawa Dominican Aug. 5, 1948, and her final profession Aug. 5, 1951. She ministered as a teacher for 45 years. Sister Alice served in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, New York, California, and Colorado.
In the Diocese of Madison, Sister Alice taught at St. Mary, Portage, 1956-1957.
Sister Alice was born April 27, 1924, in Chicago, the daughter of Leon and Karoline (Sieminska) Kolezynski. Her parents; a sister, Mary Kolezynski; and a brother, Albin Kolezynski, preceded her in death. She is survived by a sister, Jean Adamczak, and her Dominican Sisters with whom she shared life for 66 years.
