As we approach Thanksgiving and the Advent season, it is a perfect time to give thanks to all of those who supported the 2019 Annual Catholic Appeal (ACA).
Day: November 20, 2019
Thanksgiving Day invites us to share our blessings
Thanksgiving is an American feast with religious overtones. In 1620, 102 Pilgrims began sailing to the North America continent to build a new world where they would be free to worship God according to their conscience.
Pushing back against evil
During a recent speech in Texas, I mentioned that “Drag Queen Story Hours” are being sponsored by local public libraries across the country.
Toddlers and kids are brought in and placed in front of cross-dressing men who read children’s stories to them, stories that encourage them to reject fundamental gender differences between males and females.
Thanksgiving: A reminder that all received is a gift meant to be cherished, celebrated, and shared
Thanksgiving Day has remained a simple holiday. No gifts, candy, decorations, or seasons are attached to it. Family and friends simply gather for a meal on the fourth Thursday of November to give thanks to God and one another, rejoicing in the many graces and blessings that we have received from the hands of the provident and loving Lord of the feast.
For us, as Christians, thanksgiving is not simply a day on the calendar but rather a whole way of life.
Women pray for priests in Seven Sisters Apostolate

I became the “anchoress” of a Seven Sisters Apostolate group last September.
It’s lovely to be human
Life can be difficult at times, but all things considered, it’s lovely to be human. Thanks be to God, we were all given such an incredible gift at birth: the gift of life. Dare I say that in many ways we’ve made great progress since then.
