To the editor:
The December 6 issue of the Catholic Herald had tough competition from tree trimming, gift wrapping, and Christmas cards.
But I welcomed a “sit-down” to read the special “In Memoriam” section about Bishop Robert C. Morlino in the Herald. It speaks beautifully to a life well-lived.
I actually re-read and stroke-counted some of the frequently used words of tribute. Friend, kind, hope, and teacher showed up regularly. But truth, humor, joy, and love were clear winners. I believe Bishop Morlino would be pleased and would smile realizing he was most remembered for truth, humor, joy, and love.
And I paused to wonder what words my life might inspire.
Thanks for continuing to make the Catholic Herald time well spent.
