Night of reflection on Church’s view on suffering
PINE BLUFF — The Knights of Divine Mercy and the Ladies of Divine Mercy will combine for a night of reflection on Friday, March 3, starting at 6 p.m. at St. Mary of Pine Bluff Church, 3673 CR P, Cross Plains.
Fr. Mark Miller will be speaking on “What most people get wrong when they try to ‘offer up’ their suffering.”
Food Fair and Farmers Market in Reedsburg
REEDSBURG — The seventh annual Food Fair and Farmers Market will take place on Saturday, March 4, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the Sacred Heart School gym, 545 N. Oak St. This event, which features locally sourced and sustainably grown food, is held to introduce people to the value of supporting local producers and eating nutritiously.
Lord Teach Me to Pray Facilitator Trainings offered through online courses
MADISON — Facilitator training for “Lord Teach Me to Pray Part One” (LTMTP) will be held March 7 and 14, from 7 to 9 p.m. each evening.
The Bishop O’Connor Catholic Center at 702 S. High Point Rd. will host this Skype-based training. Participants must attend both nights of the program to complete the course. There is no charge for the training.

The series focuses on prayer and was developed to meet the desire of Catholics for ongoing spiritual growth in their response to the call to holiness and a deeper commitment to Jesus as Lord.
Catholics’ response to immigration and other political issues

President Trump’s temporary immigration ban was abrupt to prevent a surge of terrorists who would try to get in before a pre-announced tightening of the vetting process.
The short list of countries affected by the ban, though Muslim (like many others), had in common being identified by the Obama Administration as especially concerning.
One way to put your faith into action in Lent
Lent starts this week. It is a time of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving as we prepare for Easter.
We should consider going beyond the basic requirements. What can we do to strengthen our faith during the 40 days of Lent?
