To the editor:
On January 22, 1973, the great scourge of legalized abortion was thrust upon our country with the enactment of Roe v. Wade.
Hundreds of thousands of American Christians from across the country make the annual pilgrimage each January to the steps of the U.S. Supreme Court as a reminder that the killing of innocent children is very wrong and grieves our dear Lord.
There are tens of millions of Americans that would like to attend the national March for Life but may not be able to make the long journey. Hearing that Chicago is sponsoring a March for Life made me wonder why Wisconsin’s Christians don’t hold their own “Dairy State March for Life” at our Capitol in Madison.
I am writing to see if any pro-lifers in the Diocese of Madison would be interested in organizing a march/rally. We could hold an indoor-outdoor event. It would cost approximately $600 to reserve the Capitol, have a microphone, podium, and a few hundred chairs. Excellent speakers could be invited.
Folks need to get the latest information about efforts to expose fraud and abuse in the abortion industry. Sadly, Wisconsin has a thriving baby body parts trafficking industry as evidenced by the fact a bill to stop this practice has been defeated for the last three legislative sessions.
What an opportunity to share information on how to protect the sanctity of marriage.
