I enjoyed your editorial on “Taking Care of Creation” in the May 29 issue of the Catholic Herald.
However, I was sorely disappointed when, in the fourth paragraph, you referred to soil as “dirt” (“ . . . to test the temperature of the dirt this year”).
Dirt is soil out of place, just as a weed is a plant in the wrong place.
