MILWAUKEE — School Sister of St. Francis Leota Wiederholt (Milburga), SSSF, who lived her religious vocation as a homemaker and in food service for 60 years, died January 11, 2013, at Sacred Heart Convent in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Sister was 93.
The daughter of Peter and Ann Wiederholt, she was born February 19, 1919, in Kieler, Wisconsin. She was received into the School Sisters of St. Francis June 13, 1937; made her first profession of vows August 12, 1939; and final (perpetual) vows August 8, 1945.
Sister Leota is survived by her brother Leonard Wiederholt; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends; and the School Sisters of St. Francis Community with whom she shared her life for 75 years.
Beginning in 1938, Sister Leota ministered in Wisconsin, Nebraska and Mississippi for more than six decades. In the Diocese of Madison, Sister served as homemaker at St. Anthony Convent in Highland (1943-1948).
A wake and Funeral Liturgy were held January 16, 2013, at St. Joseph Convent, Milwaukee, followed by burial at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
