To Fr. Ken Doyle:
I would like to respond to your answer in the Catholic Herald of January 19. It concerns the $57 million church request.
In our county we are trying to help the homeless who end up sleeping in their cars or under a bridge in a cardboard box. We are doing this with the help of churches, regardless of their denomination.
We are trying to do this through an organization called Family Promise of Jefferson County. We aren’t able to help too many families with our limited finances.
If we had some of that $57 million, we could do a lot more and I think we would be more in touch with God and we would be following his Gospels and examples when he was on earth.
