KCs raise funds for apostolate wheelchairs, walkers
The handicapped and disabled, like many individuals, are experiencing the struggles of the current economic decline. This situation has resulted in the Apostolate to the Handicapped receiving a dramatic increase in requests for wheelchairs and walkers.
Jesus is with us in the Catholic Church
To the editor:
The author of the “Word to Life” column (Catholic Herald, October 28, 2010 issue) about the young man wishing to speak face to face with the pope missed a terrific opportunity to share with him the good news of the teaching magisterium of the Catholic Church.
To say that “Jesus is infinitely available unlike the pope” is to miss the truth that Jesus stated, “I am always with you” . . . IN his Church.
President, university have poor records on abortion
To the editor:
The swooning over the president’s recent visit to UW-Madison is dying down, but the sinister similarity between the man and the institution is very much alive.
Obama has an abysmal voting record on abortion issues; as an Illinois senator he voted down medical help for babies who survived abortion, allowing them to slowly suffocate.
Rescue of miners in Chile: Did God and his mother have a hand in it?
A woman I know in the Diocese of Madison e-mailed me a message after the rescue of the miners in Chile. She felt there were many religious aspects to this situation that couldn’t be ignored.
She pointed out these facts:
• Accident occurred: August 5 (feast of Our Lady of the Snows)
• Found they were alive: August 22 (feast of Queenship of Mary)
• Last miner rescued: October 13 (feast of Our Lady of Fatima)
