South Bend hosts Worldwide Marriage Encounter Convention
Hundreds of priests and happily married couples of many faiths from all over the Midwest will gather in South Bend, Ind., this July 10 through 12 to enrich and celebrate their Sacraments of Matrimony and Holy Orders.
Philothea hosts bingo night for all women
The St. Aloysius Parish girls’ and women’s group Philothea is celebrating its second “birthday” this year, and women of all ages are invited to celebrate with them at their Third Annual Grandmother, Mother, Daughter Bingo Night on Saturday, May 9, beginning at 5:30 p.m. (after the 4:30 p.m. Mass) in the school gym.

Dominican Sister Tomas Purnell died May 3, 2009, at St. Dominic Villa, Sinsinawa. The Mass of Resurrection was held in Queen of the Rosary Chapel at Sinsinawa May 6, 2009, followed by burial in the Motherhouse Cemetery.

As we priests reflect on the privilege and joy of our vocations, the countless people who have been Christ to us come to mind. Celebrating God’s love in our various parish communities is key for making us feel like we belong.
