To the editor:
The secular press typically does not distinguish embryonic stem-cell research from adult stem-cell research. At this point in time there is not a documented cure from the application of embryonic stem-cell research. On the other hand, according to Archbishop Rino Fisichella, president of the Pontifical Academy for Life, adult stem-cell research has led to the cure of some 2,000 diseases.
The recent federal executive order which lifted the restrictions on funding embryonic stem-cell research was contrary to the documented facts on stem-cell research. The directing of funds to only embryonic stem-cell research was a biased decision.
