On the weekend of December 13 and 14 we encourage all to reflect upon the great impact our priests have had on our lives here in the Diocese of Madison.
Ask Our Lady to intercede for our failing culture
To the editor:
Can we expect a good outcome from a culture that enables any sexual behavior at any time and then tries to “bail out” the “victim” using abortion, Gardasil, HIV drugs, psychotherapy, etc?
New nativity is beautiful gift
To the editor:
Thank you for the beautiful article about the new nativity at Edgewood High School. What a beautiful gift to provide to the community. This young lady knows what is truly important.
Help those affected by economic crisis
All over the country, people are suffering from the effects of an economic crisis worse than we’ve experienced since the Great Depression of the 20th century.
Planning and the holy-day season
As we transition from Thanksgiving, into Advent, and on toward Christmas, I thought that it would be nice to give some thanks, speak of hope, and talk of joy.
Our job is to ‘have time for God’
Editor’s note: The following column is taken from bishop’s homily of the first Sunday of Advent, Nov. 30, 2008.

Fire in the clinic!
One argument that is often made to justify destroying human embryos begins like this:

Bishop suspends priest to avoid further scandal
It has come to the attention of Bishop Robert C. Morlino that Reverend Gerald Vosen has recently published a book named, Pick a Number: Stories of Faith. In the book, Fr. Vosen makes explicit mention of what occurred during a penal trial, which was initiated to investigate allegations against him involving the abuse of a minor. As Fr. Vosen knows, the entire penal trial is under the Pontifical Secret and no mention of its proceeding is to be made.
