To the editor:
Thank you for the beautiful article about the new nativity at Edgewood High School. What a beautiful gift to provide to the community. This young lady knows what is truly important.
At the same time, shame on Edgewood for allowing their previous nativity to fall into such disrepair. As an alumnus I remember the seemingly constant fundraising for new athletic facilities, auditoriums, and general rejuvenation of the school.
It seems that we forgot that our beloved alma mater is first and foremost a Catholic school, and the nativity is part of the school’s face to the community at large. I think a few hundred or even a few thousand dollars could have been found long ago to maintain or repair the nativity.
Hopefully they will find the time and funds to maintain this wonderful new gift.
