Kanopy Dance auditions
MADISON -- Kanopy Dance Company open auditions for the 2002-03 season will be held Saturday, Aug. 17, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 18, from 12 to 1:30 p.m. at the studio location at 133 W. Johnson St.

Triangle Ethnic Fest
MADISON -- The 18th annual Triangle Ethnic Fest will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 18, in the neighborhood bordered by Park and Regent Sts. and W. Washington Ave. in Madison. Everyone is invited to attend this free event.
The Triangle Ethnic Fest will be a celebration with foods, cultural displays, entertainment, and activities to suit people of all ages and backgrounds.
Local food vendors will serve fare from many cultures that represent ethnicity in the Triangle, including Mexican, African, Southeast Asian, Mediterranean, European, Caribbean, and American.
Dane Dances
MADISON -- Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center will feature the rhythm and blues of Eddie Butts as part of the Dane Dances series on Friday, Aug. 16. This will be final Dane Dances of the summer.
Dane Dances is a free opportunity for people in Dane County to experience social interaction through diverse music and dance. Music and dancing will start at 5:30 p.m. with Divine Funk and Eddie Butts will perform from 7 to 9 p.m.
Monona Terrace is located at One John Nolen Dr. Parking is available in the Monona Terrace parking ramp for a nominal fee.
Sweet Corn Festival
SUN PRAIRIE -- Sun Prairie will host the annual Sweet Corn Festival Thursday, Aug. 15, through Sunday, Aug. 18, at Angell Park, near the intersection of Hwy. 19 and Hwy. N.
A parade down Main St. begins the festivities at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Live performances by Midlife Crisis on Friday night and LiveWire on Saturday night will provide adult entertainment. Carnival rides, games, food, and crafters will highlight the event as well.
Sweet corn is available Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 17 and 18, from 12 to 7 p.m. Admission is 50 cents, parking is $3 and includes admission.

Monday, Aug. 19, 8 p.m., WHA (PBS) - "A Great Deliverance." From the "Mystery" series, a new two-part entry, "The Inspector Lynley Mysteries," in which a suave earl (Nathaniel Parker) and a skeptical, working class sergeant (Sharon Small) are uneasily teamed to solve a baffling decapitation.
Tuesday, Aug. 20, 8 p.m., WHA (PBS) - "Normal for Us: The Miller Twins." Inspiring documentary about parents whose twin daughters were born in 1989 with spinal muscular atrophy, showing how the family has faced daily challenges together and the girls have become fun-loving teen-agers.
Wednesday, Aug. 21, 4:30 a.m., EWTN (cable) - "The Story of Knock." This documentary presents in a vivid manner the apparition and the story of the development of Knock into one of the major Marian shrines in the world. It tells the story of pilgrims who make their way to Knock from all corners of Ireland and from around the world, including Pope John Paul II in 1979 and Mother Teresa in 1983. Repeats 5 p.m.
