MADISON — To assist our brothers and sisters suffering from the devastation wrought in Haiti first by the recent earthquake and then by Tropical Storm Grace, many dioceses, including the Diocese of Madison, will be taking special collections in some of their parishes.
These will be carried out in order to raise relief funds for the victims of these natural disasters that have resulted in such human tragedy.
According to a letter from Archbishop José H. Gomez, president of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), the funds collected will be used in response to the earthquake and Tropical Storm Grace calamities in Haiti and any other disasters that occur and will be distributed where they are most needed.
Parishioners are asked to look for any opportunities to donate through their parishes as best they can as these opportunities become available.
Donations can also be made online at https://www.madisondiocese.org/donate
