Reception for Bishop Bullock

Staff members of the Diocese of Madison gathered at the Bishop O'Connor Catholic Pastoral Center for a Mass and farewell reception July 21 for Bishop Emeritus William H. Bullock. The celebration commemorated Bishop Bullock's 10 years as Bishop of Madison. He will have an office and live at the center after his retirement.

In his homily at the Mass, the bishop thanked diocesan staff members for their work over the years. After Communion, Msgr. Paul J. Swain thanked Bishop Bullock for his leadership, followed by a round of applause.

Diocesan staff members then gathered in the courtyard for a picnic with Bishop Bullock.

Summer outing: Apostolate to Handicapped

WISCONSIN DELLS -- The Apostolate to the Handicapped announces its annual summer outing at Wisconsin Dells to be held this year on Friday, Aug. 22, at the Tommy Bartlett Water Show site.

Tom Diehl and the staff of the Tommy Bartlett Water Show in their generosity invite the disabled and elderly to this day. The day's activities will begin with an 11 a.m. Mass celebrated in God's most beautiful cathedral, the great outdoors on the shore of Lake Delton. About 20 priests of the Diocese of Madison will concelebrate and help in the distribution of Communion.

This will be followed by a picnic box lunch and then the water show.

All handicapped and elderly persons are invited to this day. To make a reservation write to Msgr. Tom Campion, Box 443, Monroe, WI 53556. Transportation will be furnished to those who need a ride whenever possible.

It will be held rain or shine, on Aug. 22. There is no cost to anyone as expenses are paid by the Tommy Bartlett Water Show and friends of the Apostolate to the Handicapped.
