Cathedral Parish seeks to grow in faith together
The morning was in English and the afternoon in Spanish. All of it was joined together by time for Eucharistic Adoration with prayers in Spanish, Latin, and English, and two talks (one in English and the other in Spanish) by Bishop Donald J. Hying of Madison.

La oración es ese “espacio” (inexplicable en palabras) en el que, por la Gracia Divina, podemos tener un encuentro sobrenatural, una conversación con ese Dios omnipotente, pero a su vez misericordioso que nos ama infinitamente. Es un hermoso encuentro entre lo temporal y lo eterno; entre lo terreno y lo divino. Afirma Santa Teresa de Ávila que la “Oración, a mi parecer, no es otra cosa que trata de la amistad con Aquél que sabemos que nos ama”. San Agustín nos dice que “la oración, sepámoslo o no, es el encuentro de la sed de Dios y de la sed del hombre. Dios tiene sed de que el hombre tenga sed de Él”. Santa Teresa del Niño Jesús en su ternura nos ilustra: “para mí, la oración es un impulso del corazón, una sencilla mirada lanzada hacia el cielo, un grito de reconocimiento y de amor tanto desde dentro de la prueba como en la alegría”.

Sr. Rosemary Empen, OP, has died
Sister Rosemary Empen, OP, died March 2, 2022, at St. Elizabeth Manor, Footville, Wis. Her religious name was Sister Aemilia. The funeral Mass was held at the Dominican motherhouse, Sinsinawa, March 11, followed by burial in the Motherhouse Cemetery.
President Manion marks rescue plan anniversary with gratitude
This week marks the one-year anniversary of the American Rescue Plan, the federal legislation that included stimulus funds that helped keep colleges and universities open and operating during the COVID-19 pandemic. Students across the country, including students at Edgewood College, received direct support under the American Rescue Plan.
