Sunday Afternoon Live
MADISON -- Sunday Afternoon Live from the Elvehjem welcomes Eun-Joo Kwak on piano on Sunday, Jan. 16, at 12:30 p.m. in Brittingham Gallery III at the Elvehjem Museum of Art.
Assistant Professor of Piano and Coordinator of Performance Studies at Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee, Kwak will perform a carnival themed selection of works by Villa-Lobos, Rochberg, and Schumann.
There will be a cookie and tea reception after the performance. A free docent-led tour of the Elvehjem Museum begins at 2 p.m.
Sunday Afternoon Live from the Elvehjem is a free weekly chamber music series presented by the Elvehjem Museum of Art and Wisconsin Public Radio, with the cooperation of the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Music.
The series, hosted by music commentator Lori Skelton, is broadcast live on Wisconsin Public Radio stations, including WERN, 88.7, Madison.
Big Band at Fireside
FORT ATKINSON -- The Fireside presents its original Big Band revue, Swing on a Star, now through Feb. 27.
It will feature the music of Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, the Andrews Sisters, Jimmy Dorsey, Benny Goodman, Louis Armstrong, and Glenn Miller.
This immortal era is brought to life again by a talented cast of performers including The Fireside's own live big band comprised of some of southern Wisconsin's premier musicians.
The cast was selected from The Fireside's New York auditions and the musicians are top professionals from across the country.
The Fireside is located on Business Hwy. 26 on the south side of Fort Atkinson and includes several gift shops.

Sounds of Caribbean
JEFFERSON -- The Council for the Performing Arts brings the sounds of the Caribbean to Jefferson County on Saturday, Jan. 22, at 7:30 p.m. when they present Steel Drums From Trinidad.
The performance will be held at the Performing Arts Center, 700 W. Milwaukee St. in Jefferson.
Steel Drums from Trinidad features the steelpan wizardry of Liam Teague and is complimented by the multi-instrumental artistry of Robert Chappell on piano, marimba, and tabla.
Tickets for Steel Drums from Trinidad are $17 for adults, $15 for seniors, and $10 for students. Tickets may be purchased by calling 920-674-2179 or at the council's office at 100 N. Main St., Suite A, Jefferson.

Wednesday, Jan. 19, 1 a.m., EWTN (cable) -- Pro-Life is Pro-Love. In this four-part mini-series, Fr. Dan Mode conducts a comprehensive course to help high school students learn and live the pro-life journey on into their adult lives. This series is a teaching tool easily adapted to the local religious education program, or anywhere Catholics are instructed in why the church is pro-life, pro-love. The four parts include: evangelization, solutions and education, leaders for life, and testimony. Subsequent episodes air at 1:30 a.m. Jan. 19 and 1 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. Jan. 20.
Radio Program of Note
Friday, Jan. 14, 9 a.m., Relevant Radio (1240 AM) -- Relevant 2 U. This locally produced magazine style program features people, events, and Catholic issues in the Diocese of Madison. This week's program includes Bishop Robert C. Morlino's homily from the Feast of the Immaculate Conception Mass at St. Raphael Cathedral, Madison; Rob Marsland of St. Ambrose Academy in Madison; Fr.
