Sarah Hart concert

SINSINAWA -- Sinsinawa Mound will present Sarah Hart in concert on Wednesday, Oct. 29, from 7 to 9 p.m.

A workshop with Sarah Hart, "Light on a Hill," will be held Thursday, Oct. 30, from 7 to 9 p.m. Cost is $12.

Sarah Hart graduated with a degree in music composition and theory. As a musician, she has traveled throughout the U.S. and abroad performing at youth events, churches, colleges, and folk and Christian music festivals.

Concert tickets are $10, $7 in groups of 25 or more, and are available at Sinsinawa Mound. For registration, contact Diane Kieler or Janice DeMuth at 608-748-4411.

St. Bernard Players to hold auditions

MADISON -- St. Bernard Players is announcing auditions for the upcoming production of It's a Wonderful Life, a play based on the Frank Capra film.

Auditions will be held Monday, Oct. 20, at 6 p.m. in the parish center of St. Bernard Church, 2438 Atwood Ave.

Roles are available for men, women, boys, and girls. Performance dates will be Dec. 5, 6, 7, 12, and 13.

Actors will be asked to read from the script, and callbacks will be scheduled for Oct. 21, if needed. For more information, call 608-244-4077.

Milwaukee cathedral concert series

MILWAUKEE -- The Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, 812 N. Jackson St., continues its permanent Wednesday concert series.

Concerts take place every Wednesday at 12:15 p.m. and run for approximately 30 minutes. They are free and open to the public.

The remaining concerts for October include: Gretchen Longwell, organ, on Oct. 22, and Fran Wasielewski, piano, on Oct. 29.

Old World Wisconsin autumn activities

EAGLE -- October's autumn colors and temperate weather offers the backdrop for an exciting and educational day at Old World Wisconsin and as the end of the 2003 season draws near, "Autumn on the Farms" and "Hallowe'en - Traditions and Superstitions" have something for everyone.

"Autumn on the Farms" is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 18 and 19. The event illustrates how life was in the fall for Wisconsin's early families as they prepared for the long winter ahead.

"Hallowe'en - Traditions and Superstitions," on Saturday, Oct. 25, explores the traditions and superstitions that were associated with this holiday in the 19th and early 20th century.

Both events will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine.

Sunday, Oct. 19, 10 a.m., EWTN (cable) -- They Could Be Saints: "Mother Teresa of Calcutta." Fr. Benedict Groeschel examines the life and work of Mother Teresa of Calcutta and advocates her cause for canonization in this new episode. Mother Teresa founded the Missionaries of Charity and devoted her life to the care of "the poorest of the poor." She began her work in Calcutta, India, and her sisters now continue work and ministry throughout the world bringing food, medicine, care, and Christ's love to those in most need.

Sunday, Oct. 19, 8:30 p.m., WYOU (cable) -- Christopher Close-Up: "The Christopher Spirit." Young adults interpret the theme "one person can make a difference" as the Christophers present the winners of their 16th Annual Video Contest for College Students.

Tuesday, Oct. 21, 7 p.m., WHA (PBS) -- Freedom to Work. This documentary profiles Latino workers and their employers in Wisconsin's dairy, manufacturing, and hospitality industries who strive to understand each other culturally and linguistically. Repeats 10 p.m. Oct. 22.
