'Sunday Afternoon Live'
MADISON -- "Sunday Afternoon Live from the Elvehjem" welcomes pianist Namji Kim on Sunday, Jan. 19, at 12:30 p.m.
Kim, a UW-Green Bay faculty member, will play a diverse program of music, including the Toccata in E minor of Bach, Chopin's Ballade in F minor, two Barcarolles of Gabriel Faure, the Symphonic Etudes, op. 13, of Robert Schumann, and L'isle joyeuse by Claude Debussy.
There will be a reception after the performance. A free docent-led tour of the Elvehjem Museum begins at 2 p.m.
"Sunday Afternoon Live from the Elvehjem" is a free, weekly chamber music series presented by the Elvehjem Museum of Art and Wisconsin Public Radio, with the cooperation of the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Music.
The series, hosted by music commentator Lori Skelton, is broadcast live on Wisconsin Public Radio stations, including WERN, 88.7, Madison.
Theater Bus
MADISON -- Theater Bus for those over 60 is planning a trip to the Dorf Haus in Roxbury on Sunday, Feb. 23.
The Dorf Haus will be the setting for a comedy about a housewife who mistakenly thinks her husband is trying to murder her. Noon meal, show, and transportation are included in the cost of $43. Call 608-257-0003 before Jan. 30 or until full.
Chamber Players concert
MADISON -- The Oakwood Chamber Players will present "Fantasies & Diversions" on Saturday, Jan. 25, at 7:30 p.m. at Oakwood Village West Auditorium, 6209 Mineral Point Rd., and on Sunday, Jan. 26, at 3 p.m. at First Unitarian Society, 900 University Bay Dr.
"Fantasies & Diversions" will feature: Frederick Delius' Intermezzo for flute, oboe, and piano; Janacek's Concertino for mixed ensemble, piano, and narrator; and Dennis Riley's Fantasia after Orlando Gibbons for oboe, clarinet, and cello.
This will also be the inaugural "bring a friend" concert. Bring a guest who has never seen the Oakwood Chamber Players to the concert and the guest gets in free.

Sunday, Jan. 19, 8 p.m., WHA (PBS) - "The Hound of the Baskervilles." Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's most famous story, first published in 1901, gets a new adaptation and a new actor to animate Sherlock Holmes in this "Masterpiece Theatre" presentation.
Monday, Jan. 20, 8 p.m., WHA (PBS) - "The Murder of Emmett Till." An "American Experience" documentary about the 1955 lynching in Mississippi of a 14-year-old boy whose two killers were quickly acquitted by an all-white jury. The two men sold their detailed story of the brutal murder, which helped mobilize the civil rights movement.
Monday-Tuesday, Jan. 20-21, 8 p.m. each night, History (cable) - "TR: An American Lion." Historical documentary examines the life and career of Theodore Roosevelt and the impact he had on America and the world.
Monday, Jan. 20, 9 p.m., WHA (PBS) - "Brother Outsider: The Life of Bayard Rustin." The civil rights activist who capped his career with the 1963 March on Washington is profiled in this "P.O.V." series documentary.
Tuesday, Jan. 21, 7 p.m., and Wednesday, Jan. 22, 6:30 a.m., EWTN (cable) - "Solemn Mass for Life from the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C." Repeats 11 p.m. Jan. 21 and 5:30 p.m. Jan. 22.
Wednesday, Jan. 22, 10 a.m., EWTN (cable) - "March for Life." EWTN coverage includes interviews with participants from across the U.S., panel discussions with pro-life speakers, the March for Life procession up Constitution Avenue, and the Rally for Life at the Washington Monument.
