The host of "Working with the Poor," and symbol of hope to the poorest of the poor in this island nation's own Calcutta, is Fr. Richard Ho Lung. In this five-part mini-series, Fr. Ho Lung shares his conversion from Buddhism and call to the Caribbean, and the joys and challenges he faced, and still embraces, in founding and sustaining the Missionaries of the Poor. Part 2: 5 p.m. Oct. 22; Part 3: 5 p.m. Oct. 23; Part 4: 5 p.m. Oct. 24; Part 5: 5 p.m. Oct. 25.

Saturday, Oct. 26, 7 p.m., WKOW (ABC) - "Backdraft" (1991). Deep-rooted conflicts boil over when a rookie Chicago firefighter (William Baldwin) is placed under the command of his estranged brother (Kurt Russell) during the investigation of a string of arson-related murders. With the terrifying nature of fire emerging as the real star of the movie, director Ron Howard ambitiously tackles a relationship story, a murder mystery, and a special effects action movie with modest success. Some grisly shots of charred bodies, very brief nudity, fleeting sexual innuendo, occasional fisticuffs, and intermittent rough language. The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops classification of the theatrical version was A-III - adults. The Motion Picture Association of America rating was R - restricted.
Saturday, Oct. 26, 7:30 p.m., WMTV (NBC) - "Sleepy Hollow" (1999). In this violent adaptation of Washington Irving's spooky tale of the headless horseman, Ichabod Crane (Johnny Depp) is a pompous, fearful New York constable sent to Sleepy Hollow to find the triple-murderer who has made off with the victims' heads. Although director Tim Burton conjures up a visually gorgeous period piece, the contrived humor doesn't work and the narrative overdoses on scenes of the horseman and another villain gleefully butchering their prey. Recurring grisly decapitations and a discreet sexual encounter. The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops classification of the theatrical version was A-IV - adults, with reservations. The Motion Picture Association of America rating was R - restricted.
